IT Support and Troubleshooting
Technology is supposed to help you do your work, not get in the way of it. When something breaks, when a system behaves unpredictably, or when you need to set up new infrastructure and want it done right the first time, you need someone who can diagnose the problem, fix it, and explain what happened. That is what I do.
What I Deliver
- Troubleshooting and diagnostics — Systematic investigation of hardware, software, and network issues to identify root causes, not just symptoms.
- System administration — Installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, workstations, and network equipment.
- Network setup and support — Design, deployment, and troubleshooting of wired and wireless networks, including firewalls and routing.
- Data backup and recovery — Reliable backup strategies and recovery procedures so you do not lose critical information when something goes wrong.
- Security hardening — Practical security measures that protect your systems without making them unusable.
- User support — Patient, clear assistance for people who need help with their technology, whether it is a software issue, an email problem, or something else entirely.
- Remote and on-site support — I support clients in the San Antonio and Amarillo areas on-site, and I provide remote support to clients around the nation.
My Approach
I approach troubleshooting methodically. I gather information, form hypotheses, test them, and narrow down to the root cause. I do not guess, and I do not apply random fixes hoping something sticks. When I fix a problem, I want to understand why it happened so I can help prevent it from happening again.
I also believe that good IT support is as much about communication as it is about technical skill. I explain what I am doing and why, in terms that make sense to the person I am helping. I do not talk down to technically competent people, and I do not overwhelm people who are less familiar with technology. The goal is to solve the problem and leave the person on the other end feeling informed and confident.
Who This Is For
This service is a good fit if you need reliable technical support for your business or home office, if you have a persistent problem that no one has been able to resolve, if you are setting up new systems and want them configured correctly from the start, or if you want a proactive partner who can keep your technology running smoothly so you can focus on your work.
