Background

I am a freelance engineering manager, software engineer, DevOps engineer, and IT support specialist. Over the course of my career, I have worked across the full stack of technology — from designing user interfaces and writing back-end services to configuring infrastructure, hardening systems against attack, and troubleshooting problems that no one else could figure out.

I currently specialize in product and engineering management, DevOps implementation, and cybersecurity research. I work with a team of talented professionals to provide consulting and support for a wide array of technology solutions. My team and I support clients in the San Antonio and Amarillo areas in particular, but we also provide remote support to clients around the nation.

What I Do

My work falls into several overlapping areas:

  • Engineering management — Leading teams, defining processes, and making sure the right work gets done in the right way.
  • Software development — Building web applications, custom tools, and automation that solve real problems.
  • DevOps — Designing and implementing reliable, repeatable infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
  • Cybersecurity — Evaluating systems for vulnerabilities, implementing security controls, and helping organizations understand their risk posture.
  • IT support — Hands-on troubleshooting, system administration, and technical assistance for when things break or need to work better.

Open Source

I am a proud supporter of open source technology. Over the years, I have contributed to open source in a variety of ways, including code contributions, education, project administration, and implementation. I believe that open source is one of the most important forces in modern technology, and I try to give back whenever I can.
